Assessment Tools Exercise– Do at least 2 of the assessments provided in the module, but post results one of the two choices listed on the discussion board and include implications for nurses.

Assignment 2

SILENT SPRING EXERCISE – After reading Silent Spring, - choose one of the 12 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PRINCIPLES FOR PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING and discuss how the lessons in Silent Spring exemplify the principle.

Then, go to The Consumer Product Information Database.  Click on Product Type, then the letter "P", then choose Pesticide. Choose a specific product to explore you may choose one that is listed as “old”. Scroll down and review the warnings, acute and chronic health effects, carcinogenicity, and any emergency procedures. Finally, scroll back up under the picture to click on Find Similar Products.  Observe how many other products there are that serve the same purpose.
