Module 3: Research Methods
Sampling Overview
Students will begin to consider how researchers select samples that will allow them to achieve statistical conclusion validity (quantitative studies) or trustworthiness (qualitative studies) and generalize or transfer their findings. A fundamental understanding of quantitative and qualitative research is necessary to distinguish the sampling plans utilized by researchers for each of these types of study.
Student will learn about critiquing quantitative and qualitative research in greater detail in Modules 8 and 9. Review the powerpoint below to provide an overview research sampling.
