NDNP 810 - DNP Project Identification
Module 1: Mobilize the DNP Project
Assignments
- Post a personal introduction on your Group Discussion Board
- Post a table of your project team (understand that this mobilization is early)
- Post the Draft of your Fishbone Diagram - Root Cause Analysis on your Group Discussion Board
- Come to class prepared to share and solicit feedback from faculty and peers on the following information about your planned DNP project:
- the problem that you plan to address
- the practice change you plan to implement
- the clinical site where the practice change will be implemented
- root cause(s) of clinical problem as viewed through a fishbone diagram
- Complete the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training and Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) program.
- HIPAA Training - Complete both the HIPAA 125 and 201 trainings, and submit to assignments
- To access the HIPAA trainings:
https://issomspweb.som.umaryland.edu/hipaa/quiz/index.asp - If you already have a HIPAA user account, you can log in using your UMB employee ID/Student ID/system generated ID and first name as password.
- If you do not have a HIPAA user account, you can request one though these steps.
- Go to this site http://issomspweb.som.umaryland.edu/hipaa/quiz/index.asp
- Click “Look UP/Request a Login” link (on the log in page) to go to Employee ID app
- Enter last name and first name, if there is record returned, select the correct one and click on the “Continue to On-Line Training” button. The ID will take you back to the HIPAA log in page. Enter first name as password to enter the training site.
- If no record returns, click “Create an ID” button at the next page, fill out all requested information, and click “Submit." Log in to HIPAA will occur automatically.
- To access the HIPAA trainings:
- HIPAA Training - Complete both the HIPAA 125 and 201 trainings, and submit to assignments

- CITI Training
- To access the CITI training http://www.citiprogram.org
- Follow the directions here to register for the program.
- When creating your CITI account, please make sure you affiliate with “University of Maryland Baltimore”. If you have an existing CITI account please change your affiliation.
- Complete the Stage 1 Basic Course for Group 1. Biomedical Research Investigators and Key Personnel. The training will take approximately 4-6 hours, but does not have to be completed in one sitting.
- Download the certificate from the CITI website, and upload it to Assignments.
