To enhance your understanding of innovation and change, please use the text and other resources to identify an example of an innovation and change that you have been involved in/and or have sufficient knowledge of, to provide answers to the following items. This change may be either an example of an effort that was successful or unsuccessful.
Present the discussion in outline form using each of the following components as headings. List each heading and the discussion that follows. Please post this to the discussion board and not in an attachment.
- Case description
Briefly describe the exchange in one paragraph, including:- The participants
- The setting
- The expected outcome of the change
- The actual outcome of the change
- Attributes of the leader that facilitated the change
Compare the leader attributes to those identified by Hamric - Obstacles and/ barriers to the process
Identify any professional, sociocultural and/or organizational barriers operant in the change - Strategies used by the leader to effect change
Use Hamric, Eden, or other resources as desired, to identify the strategies used by the leader to effect change - Accrued benefits
List some of the benefits or lack of benefits to the patients and professionals as a result of this change - Evaluation and recommendation
Evaluate the outcomes of the change effort, and recommend steps crucial to nurses faced with similar situations
