How Do I complete assignments and Assessments

Assignments Tool

The Assignments tool is used to present a variety of learning activities to you as a student, allowing you to view and submit assignments from one location. You can submit assignments in the following ways:

  • Provide text on the Upload Assignment page.
  • Files attached from your computer.
  • A combination of both text and attached files.

Assignments list the name, description, and attachments for class work. Your instructor will provide you all the information you need to complete the assignment. You can also choose to include comments for your instructor before you submit your work.

SafeAssign Assignments

SafeAssign™ is a plagiarism prevention service, offered in the Blackboard Learning System. This service helps educators prevent plagiarism by detecting unoriginal content in student papers. In addition to acting as a plagiarism deterrent, it also has features designed to aid in educating students about plagiarism and the importance of proper attribution of any borrowed content.

Assessments Tool

An Assessment is a Test or Survey. Tests are used to assess your knowledge. Your instructor assigns point values to questions. Your answers are submitted for grading, and the results are recorded in the Grade Center. You can find tests and surveys in the "Assignments" or "Exams & Quizzes" folder from the course menu bar. For first time online learner, it's recommended to take the "Practice Test" (located in the same folder with other online tests) prior to the real test. This will make you familiar with the online testing environment.

Surveys can be used for polling purposes and evaluations. This type of assessment is not graded.
