  • As you watch the videos, identify  barriers to enacting a bill, and implications for advocacy and lobbying strategies.
  • Meet with your small group and answer the following questions based on the readings, knowledge from prior courses, and your experience: 
    • How are evidence based policy and evidence based practice similar and different?
    • Based on the Payan & Lewis (2019) California state legislative example and the 2014 VA research report and the subsequent changes in VA APRN policy (independent practice for three of the four advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) roles), discuss the role of evidence in policy change.
