Module 3: Teacher Intensive Strategies

Overview

The next 5 modules will focus on instructional strategies. Strategies are grouped into five categories which form a continuum from teacher-intensive to teacher-moderated to collaborative to learner-moderated to learner-intensive. The strategies answer the question "how is teaching done?” 

Module 3 is described as teacher-intensive because of the highly active role that the teacher plays in the teaching/learning process. The key strategy is lecture and it will be investigated as an appropriate strategy based on the learning objectives and the learning style of the learner. Preparing and delivering an effective, interactive lecture, using a variety of instructional media is the focus of module 3.
