Scope of NI Practice

The goal of Nursing Informatics is to improve outcomes of healthcare by optimizing information management and communication. NI practice includes the design and use of informatics solutions and/or technology to support all areas of nursing and other healthcare disciplines. This section explains the scope of NI practice including functional areas and competency of NI.
