NDNP 810 - DNP Project Identification
Mod 3: Planning
overview
Planning is essential for these projects as healthcare occurs in complex environments. Many layers of complexity need to be included in this process. There are many tools to help you with this planning and you will notice some minor changes throughout the project will be needed. Information regarding quality improvement framework and models are provided to give support and options for your individual project location. An expanded DNP management tool is provided to help you identify implementation components such as strategies, tactics, and measures to monitor. Keep track of changes with the DMP management tool.
In this module, students will update the management tool looking for gaps that may have been identified with the processes. This is similar to writing an abstract after the paper is written. It is hard to synthesize something until you write out all of the information first. in the management tool you will identify what you will be measuring for your project.
You will also review the various framework to support your project. Please review these framework and choose one, or you are welcome to choose a different one that you feel is more specific to your project’s location.
We are also going to introduce you to implementation of your project. This starts the “I” in MAP-IT and helps with your planning for implementation. We also provide some information on data analytics but more to come on this topic in future modules.
Tools for the evidence review table (ERT) are here for your convenience. We have templates and the new JHNEBP level and quality tool for your use.
objectives
At the conclusion of this module, the learner will be able to:
- Present the appraised and synthesized research and practice evidence to support the project intervention
- Identifies a Quality Improvement framework (optionally a practice framework) and discusses (in the manuscript) the use of the frameworks(s) to guide the project
- Designs an implementation plan to achieve the project aims/objectives, to include strategies and tactics, timeline, and sustainability
- Initiates a data plan to include measures and data collection procedures
- Describe appropriate data analytic processes for measures
