Module 2: Contexts of Learning and Learner Characteristics

Overview

In this module, you will explore various approaches used to identify learners’ developmental levels and learning styles. This is critical to understanding the rationale for selecting the most appropriate teaching approach (or combination of approaches) based on the developmental status of the learner. Once an approach has been selected, the learner must understand their learning style in order to fulfill the stated learning objectives.

Individuals also bring a constellation of unique and shared characteristics to learning experience. This module highlights some key learner characteristics, their impact on learning and their implications for teaching for optimal outcomes.
