Module 14 and 15: Understanding and Evaluating Data - Global, National, Local

Overview

In prior modules, we have covered the introduction to knowledge translation, evidence creation and synthesis, theoretical foundations, translation interventions, clinical and economic outcomes and sustaining knowledge use. This final module provides an overview of health data in US compared to other countries.. Maryland's Total Cost of Care Model is compared to national benchmarks.

Objectives

After this synchronous module, the learner will be able to:

  1. Explain the purpose and use of Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis and Lean methods to evaluate and sustain knowledge use.
  2. Review global health data comparing the US with other high-income countries on selected health issues.
  3. Compare and contrast National Quality Measure Model and the Maryland Total Cost of Care Model
  4. Identify data sources for retrieving healthcare information.
